To promote and protect Chilliwack’s urban forests for the future.
Chilliwack Urban Forest Advocates is a group of residents and industry professionals who know we can have a positive impact on our ecosystems.
An urban forest is a collection of all the trees within a city and includes woodlands, like Little Mountain, rows of trees along a street like Garrison Boulevard and individual trees in parks and on private property.
Together, the urban forest lends beauty to the community, provides shelter from the weather, homes for wildlife, and long-term storage of carbon.
OUR GOALS
Everyone should be able to see at least three trees from their home.
Chilliwack should ensure 30% tree canopy in all neighborhoods.
All residents should have at least one hectare of greenspace within 300m of where they live.
